Project based learning

I have always enjoyed doing projects with my students, but the info. presented in Intel is much more thorough and technology based. I think this will be a good thing for my students. Many do not have access to technology nor do they have aspirations for careers that could be presented in projects. Projects in physics or chemistry will hopefully give them new insights and applications for what we are learning, and they will enjoy what they are learning.

The "ah-ha"s that come from making relevant, real-life application to school makes it all worthwhile! No more griping about "why do I have to do...?" I can't wait to see your final result!

It's true many kids don't have access to technology, but that's where we come in right? Giving them this exposure and abilities to see what's out there and the capibilities they'll find what they can do and what's ahead of them is endless and priceless.

I think that sometimes if a student doesn't have a computer sitting in front of them at home, they/we don't think they have access to technology. Technology is "the methods and tools that a society has developed in order to facilitate the solution of its practical problems." When students develop new ways to solve the same old problem, that's technology. So I can't find an answer about Brown vs. The Board of Education from a search engine. Instead, I can call my Aunt Ida and ask her opinion of how it affected her. Suddenly, the kid is using technology.
